Dr. Anna Bakeman is a fellowship-trained facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon. She was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She attended the University of Michigan for her undergraduate studies, where she majored in cellular and molecular biology and worked as a photographer for the newspaper. Both her father and grandfather were physicians, and as a child she was inspired by the close ties they built with the community. Because of this, she knew very early that she wanted to pursue a career in medicine, and after expanding her artistic interests she ultimately found a marriage of her love of science and art in the subspecialty of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Bakeman’s Background
Dr. Bakeman attended medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed a rigorous Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She returned to the Medical College of Wisconsin for a fellowship where she trained under Dr. Sachin Pawar, Dr. John Rhee, Dr. Joseph Zenga, and Dr. Jennifer Bruening, and had extensive exposure to both the aesthetic and reconstructive aspects of facial plastic surgery.
Dr. Bakeman is board-certified in Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery, passed the board examination for the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.
As a proud Midwesterner, Dr. Bakeman combines a diverse surgical skillset with a practical approach and loves helping patients feel their best with natural-looking results. She is passionate about the outdoors and enjoys backpacking, running, and exploring the beautiful state with her husband and son.
