Patient #257482

This delightful 74 yo woman was referred to me by one of her co-workers that I had operated on. She was having trouble seeing peripherally and didn’t like how hooded her eyelids were. Eyelid surgery is unique in that you can’t achieve a functional improvement without causing a change in appearance. For example, I can make a nose breathe better without changing how it looks, but I can’t make someone see better without making their eyelids look different. The patient shown here underwent a temporal browlift and upper blepharoplasty which is another word for an eyelid lift. The browlift incisions are hidden at the hairline and the eyelid incisions should be hidden in the eyelid crease. I love how symmetrical this result is, and how we can see her pretty blue-green eyes now. Eyelid surgery should enhance a person’s appearance and not stand out. If you take too much eyelid skin, it can create too obvious a change or even make a person look older. Some celebrities have had over-done eyelid surgery recently but that’s something we are careful to avoid at Midwest Facial Plastic Surgery.
Subtle, functional, and beautifully natural results exactly how eyelid surgery should be!
