75-year-old male referred for reconstructive options for his nose following Mohs surgery for basal cell carcinoma. The location of the skin cancer defect of the right ala or nostril required a two-stage procedure. A cartilage graft was taken from his septum inside of his nose to provide support of the nostril and a pedicled flap from the left cheek was used to replace the missing skin. A second surgery was required to remove the pedicle of skin. The result is a natural, unoperated appearance of the nose. Photos show him before and over 6 months after and show the completed reconstruction of the nose. This patient’s care was provided by Dr. Christopher Tolan at Midwest Facial Plastic Surgery and Esthetic Skincare.
