This 75-year-old woman developed severe facial tightness and facial asymmetry (called synkinesis) after right-sided Bell’s palsy over 20 years ago. She underwent BOTOX® injections to the right neck, chin, and around the eyes to relax the muscles that were in spasm. Her face now looks much more symmetrical and she no longer has as much facial discomfort. She is also undergoing physical therapy to help relax the tight muscles.
